i would recommend knowing how to pass a down ball, a overhand serve and pretty much any ball they will throw at you. Also hitting is important........you need to be able to hit cross court, line and possible tip when told. Setting is not that important, unless you are a setter, then you need to be able to set outside, middle, right side, a slide and a one, plus get to every ball with your hands! Serving is crucial at try-outs because if you cant serve, they wont want you! I hope this kind of puts try-outs into perspective for you!

Yea, definitely. Even if she's not the greatest at it, the earlier you start on volleyball or any sport the better. If she's not so good now, she has a few years to learn it all and get the bad out of her system before high school and then she'll be really good by then and love it. So yea, definitely encourage her to do it if she really wants to be in a sport.

USA Volleyball 12 and under volleyball net height is 7'.
Most middle school teams have the option to let the league choose 7' or regulation 7' 4 1/4"
In Canada, it's 6'6"!

Ok the first guy is totally wrong... u get 3 hits not 4.......3 HITS..... You try to get the ball over by bumping, setting, or spiking the ball over. You want the ball to land on their side of the net and you want to get it over to theirs when its on urs. You can't catch the ball, throw the ball, or touch the net.

Hope this helped

I am 5'1... and was a starter on my high school varsity team for 3 years. I went on to play college volleyball for 4 years and started for 4 years.... there is no "height requirement." As you can see... I am vertically challenged and that didn't stop me from playing and succeeding! Good luck!

Never force your daughter to do something she doesn't want to do. Sports are supposed to be fun, and if they aren't its worthless. If your daughter actually likes playing in the games, I would encourage her to stick with it, because she obviously likes it a little bit if shes wants to play in a game. If she doesnt, let her quit.

Usually if you say, "Fine then, just tell your coach you want to quit!" She'll be too embarassed and go anyway.

A way to actually make it exciting is play with her at home and then she can show her new skills at practice!

Volley ball is pretty much a team game.So u need to assemble a group of guys who can give u a company to play volleyball. If u need training u need to consult your nearest sports club where volleyball is played. If u want to become a proffessional u might even need to change the town u live in,as u said u don't have a club.
Have a nice time.
