If you are a ten year old boy, i recommend, playing a lot. Of course the question is, will those moves help you win a game. It’s like football. If you can make the moves, you are still not sure if you can score :)

for 25 bucks unless its used i bet its fake. look for where its made, cos i almost bought one once and then a guy who knew alot about raquets pointed out to me that it was made in korea and yonex raquets are made in japan. even if its fake though as long as it works good you still got a good deal for 25 bucks, fake raquets may brake easier though so be careful with it.

  4. I play both to a reasonable standard. I don't think one is necessarily harder than the other they are just completely different sports which ostensibly both depend on hand-eye coordination. Contrary to popular belief badminton is actually the faster sport, and to be honest I think you need to be fitter to play it than you do tennis. You need faster reactions for badminton, particularly doubles. If you look at the tops guys in tennis, they tend to be over 6 foot, big sturdy guys. This is an ideal physique for tennis but not badminton. Top badminton singles players tend to be a lot leaner, although height is still an advantage.

I think badminton doesn't get the exposure it deserves purely because for whatever reason it doesn't come across as well on TV as tennis does.

You'll have 3 byes, you'll have to slot for 16. 1st seed will go against 16th, 2nd against 15th and so on. The total of the rank of both team must total up to 17, 1+16 = 17, 2 + 15, 3+14 and so on.

    Here's an example with 8 http://www.calarchery.com/PDF/Calcup_2007_Final%20OR.pdf

as one who has played more 'traditional' sports like rugby, ice hockey and soccer…i love it it when i tell people that i was on the varsity badminton team. first string male singles player.

everyone laughs and i love it more.

i then ask them to come on the court with me. for those stupid enough to take up the offer, i explain the rules and i tell them that i will let them use my best racquet and i will use a much heavier inferior one.

i start him off on a patty cake game to lull them into a false sense of security and let them laugh at me as i let a lot of my shots fall on the floor.

with the warm up over, as he hits a nice high lob shot, i proceed to smash the shuttlecock into his face. they get mad at me and i half sincerely apologize.

my usual game plan is to tire them out with constant shots to the back of the court. i try and make it as easy as possible for them to return the shots. then out of nowhere, i will drop a shot where it just flips over the net. i love the mad rush to the net.

after this, fun time is over. i tell them i will stand only in the center of the court and not move. being 6'2" i have really good reach. they can hit the shuttlecock wherever they want and i can not move. i will even give them serve.

what happens after this is i will put the birdie in the back then i will put it to the front and just make them run back and forth, back and forth until they are ready to collapse. me? i barely break a sweat.

am i a great player? no, but i will always be better than those who never played the sport before and have the stupidity to laugh at badminton to someone like me…and probably like you as well.

let them shoot their mouth off, if they are stupid enough to take on a challenge…let your playing shut them up.

badminton shoes have a very tacky indoor sole and are very flat (to prevent rolling over on ankle) and lightweight, breathable and flexible. Tennis shoes can vary depending on surface and can be a bit more bulky/substantial but same sorta style.

I recommend you to use yonex in your badminton equipments. But it costs higher than other brands.
